Challenge

We were approached with an open-brief to develop a way of enhancing the visit to Yankee Stadium’s Monument Park.

Process

We wanted the visitors to take an active role in discovering the unique story behind every player. Using the retired jersey plaques in Monument Park, our AR experience allowed fans to scan numbers in their web browser, learn about the players and build their own custom dream team.

We built our own image recognition machine learning AI and created a dataset of thousands of images to train it to recognise player numbers. The AI was able to achieve a recognition rate of 99% across all numbers

Solution

We were able to use AI to enhance, not just the experience at the park, but also the visitor’s curiosity. We put them in the drivers seat, allowing them to engage in a more dynamic way with the players history.
